BLB Custom Building Accepts Three New Awards as the Summer Comes to an End
Updated: Sep 17
This summer, BLB Custom Building was honored to receive three prestigious awards for two of our recent projects: the Victorian Remodel and Amesbury Family Home.
Our Victorian Remodel, the winner of a Chrysalis Regional Award and Qualified Remodeler Silver Award within the Whole House between $300,000-$700,000 category, was an extensive whole-house renovation, including a family room and separate breezeway addition, an updated mudroom, an eat-in kitchen, four redesigned bathrooms, and a luxurious master bedroom and en-suite.
Beginning in 1993, the Chrysalis Awards recognize superior residential and commercial remodeling projects within 28 categories. Regional winners are selected for each of the four geographical regions in the country and are later judged when selecting a national winner for each category. Winners will also be listed in the September Issue of Qualified Remodeler, which showcases the best projects completed by companies across the United States. This will be the second time BLB Custom Building is recognized in the Qualified Remodeler magazine and our second Master Design Award.
Ken Kanline, Director of the Chrysalis Awards, sums up the recent achievement best:
"[BLB Custom Building] has won two Chrysalis Awards in the past two years, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to professionalism and excellence."
In addition to the awards, the Victorian Remodel has been featured in Northshore Home Magazine and welcomed guests during the Newburyport Holiday House Tour in 2019.
Our Amesbury Family Home project, winner of the Gold Award in the Residential Addition Under $200K category at this year's EM NARI Contractor of the Year (CotY) Awards, expanded and brightened the homeowners' living space through a 336 sq. ft. addition. Custom wooden built-in benches were installed to increase seating and add a cozy aesthetic to a room built specifically with family in mind.
Each year, EM NARI features the finest industry professionals within the region and recognizes the superior work executed by its members. Project entries are evaluated on how well the project met the client's needs, functionality and aesthetics of the space, the use of innovative materials and methods, the ability to overcome obstacles creatively, the craftsmanship displayed in the work, and the presentation of the project.
Amy Cafazzo of Studio A Marketing offered high praise to BLB during the 2020 Virtual CotY Awards, stating:
"This project completely altered the way that this family lives in the home. Previously a congested dining area, this newly expanded space brings light, function, and square footage to play, gather, and make memories together as a family."
BLB Custom Building would like to thank all clients, subcontractors, judges, and team members that have shown their support throughout the summer. We look forward to building even more relationships and continuing our excellence within the residential custom-building industry. Thanks again for a fantastic summer!
